As a retired police officer and former teacher, he will fight for better mental health training for officers and faster response times for all emergency services. By updating laws to protect our children and fixing the root causes of crime, Montez is committed to a plan that keeps our homes secure today and tomorrow. Montez Aiken is a former teacher and retired School Resource Officer who is ready to take his fight for our children and educators to the state capitol. He believes that South Carolina’s 43rd-place ranking in education is not good enough and that our students deserve a fair shot at a successful life. To advocate for this, he will fight to raise teacher pay and improve working conditions so our best educators can focus on the classroom instead of second jobs. Montez is also committed to providing students with modern technology, better textbooks, and safer buildings to help them thrive. With his heart and experience, Montez Aiken will collaborate with local and state leaders to build a school system that makes South Carolina a leader in the nation!
